Eski Kahta Slideshow A friend of mine, Martin, and I slept on the dirt floor of this house in 1983. Eski Kahta, 'Old Kahta', is no larger now than it was 33 years ago. The fields of new wheat planted by the farmers of Eski Kahta, in eastern Turkey. The area around Eski Kahta has dramatic outcrops of rock, and spring streams run from the Antitaurus Mountains. This is a view from the village, with part of the Mamluke castle overlooking the valley of the Kahta River. Around this wonderful outcrop is the village of Eski Kahta.
